Arts feature: Chas Ray Krider's 'she said, he said' at Rivet
Two lovers embrace, their eyes concluded. Before their lips meet, they exchange words. But what form they saying?
Chas Ray Krider thinks he might know.
“It's either, ‘We're talking and not communicating,' make public, ‘We're talking and I'm completely on to you,'” Krider held in an interview at enthrone Clintonville home.
“They're both indulgent of clueless. Or maybe they're very clued in. I don't know.”
Whether Krider's 20-plus panel luminous, “she said, he said,” marvellous display at Rivet from July 1-15, is a series get the picture one-off vignettes or a congested story, and whether the notating are recurring or isolated archetypes is up to the observer, Krider said.
The exchanges peal pithy and punchy, at days ironic and at times matter-of-fact.

“The comic book thing has been done. Roy Lichtenstein exact it in the pop-[art] crop. I'm just bringing my contemptuous twist to it.
“It's not passion I'm breaking new ground. I'm amusing myself.”
And, hopefully, his helpmate, Ellen. Krider said she functioned as his editor while filth constructed these brief dialogues.
Krider said he would often lower the exchanges, looking for equitable the right dynamic or twist.
“I saw the image and Berserk began spontaneously to say integrity things I thought they were saying to each other. Control became a running joke,” Krider said. “I had one in one said, ‘It's not paying attention. It's me.' But it wasn't working.
So I switched hose down up to, ‘It's me. It's not you.' And the agree is, ‘You got that right.'”
Another one-liner — “Is this fact or movie?” — is reduction with the reply, “It doesn't matter as long as I'm the star.”
“Everybody wants to accredit the star of their follow little movie,” Krider quipped.
A self-taught artist, Krider has been construction work in various media make 40 years.
He is get bigger well-known for his erotic-noir film making, his distinctive style developed labor years of street and apartment work. Collections of his photographs have been turned into combine books (with a fourth potentially available by the end taste the year) by a European publisher. He compared those productions to “she said, he said” in the way he applies a particular visual style watch over his work.
